Preventing turbo charger problems
Turbo chargers are designed to last just as long as the engine itself and they don't require any special maintenance other than a few periodic checks.

To ensure that your turbo charger's lifespan is maximized, you'll want to:

- Maintain proper oil change levels due to the heat created with its use
- Maintain an up-to-date oil filter system
- Maintain correct and optimal oil pressure
- Maintain clean air filters and system maintenance

Currently having turbo charger trouble?
First, we should mention that the turbo charger should not automatically be judged as the source of engine trouble. If you have ruled out engine trouble as the issue and believe your turbo charger is the cause, here are some reasons why it might be failing:

- Objects like dust, stones, or other items got into the turbine or compressor
- The motor oil is dirty or low
- The oil pressure is low or the oil filter system is inadequate
- The exhaust gas temperatures from the ignition/injection system are too high
- Other mechanical issue, breakdown or manufacturer defect
